Issue management

OpenBIM and/or internal teamwork explained

Simple workflow

from model checker to BIM tool

You can use our BCF Managers in any situation where issue management for BIM is an issue: file based data exchange or connected to the cloud based issue system BIMcollab.

First, we help you to improve your team performance. Work more efficiently on solving issues in BIM models with BIMcollab and the BCF Managers. Report issues for all document types or use the 'assign-to' functionality to make somebody responsible.
Second, we support multidisciplinary teamwork by offering BCF Managers for all recent versions of Revit, ARCHICAD, Navisworks, Tekla Structures and simplebim. Combined with the native support for BCF in Solibri, BIMsight, DDS, MagiCAD and more.

How to exchange issues

Report issues

Keep the BCF Manager always at hand when working on a model in Revit, Tekla or ARCHICAD, so you can make notes and create 2D and 3D issues. Stop sending e-mails about issues to team members, just assign these to them.

Save the issues

Save the found issues as a BCF file and send them to team members or publish them to BIMcollab, Use the list during a team meeting to discuss the issues just by opening the BIMcollab website.

Resolve and comment...

Fix the issue, document your changes, and set the status to ‘Resolved.’ If someone else is responsible, assign the issue to that person to approve and close the issues. Save changes to the BCF file again or publish them to BIMcollab.

...or create new issues

Add new issues, with just one click, from a 3D view, 2D document or detail. Add a comment and assign it to the one of your team members or yourself.

Open report in BIM modeler

Everybody can open the BCF file in their modeling software and work on issues by easily filtering only their own. Or use the BCF Managers to connect to BIMcollab and see the issues you need to work on.

Merge BCF files

Merge BCF files to create up-to-date issue lists. No comment or issue will be lost. Or just work with BIMcollab, then merging is fully automated.

A typical OpenBIM workflow

Check and export in Solibri Model Checker

Run the desired checks in Solibri Model Checker, create a presentation of the issues, assign team members, and suggest how to solve the issues.

Save as BCF report

Export your presentation to BCF. Every issue from your presentation will be available, including references to the objects. All this without saving the complete model.

View the issues in ARCHICAD, Tekla or Revit

Open the BCF file with one of the BCF Managers. A simple click on any issue takes you directly to the right view, showing the same objects as selected in Solibri Model Checker. Never before have you been able to locate issues so easily!

Resolve and comment...

Fix issues, document your changes, and set the status to ‘Resolved’. Or assign the issue to the responsible person to approve and close the issues.

 ...or create new issues

Add new issues, with just one click, from a 3D view, 2D document or detail. Add a comment and assign it to the one of your team members or yourself.

Send in your changes & additions

When you're finished with the issues, save them as a BCF file and inform the project manager or team members. Also make a new IFC export of your model. The original presentation in Solibri will be updated according to the changed BCF file.
