New: BIMcollab® BCF Manager for Tekla® Structures
Share and solve issues found in construction models

Eindhoven, The Netherlands October 1, 2015 - Today KUBUS announces the release of the BIMcollab® BCF Manager for Tekla® Structures. This new add-on is the next step in our expansion of BIM tools that are directly linked to BIMcollab® for cloud-based issue management. Like the current BCF Managers for Revit, ARCHICAD, Navisworks and simplebim it supports opening/saving BCF files and connecting to BIMcollab®; both join.bimcollab.com and private company spaces. Issues found in BIM model checkers like Solibri and clash detection software like Navisworks can be communicated via BIMcollab® and looked up in Tekla Structures.

The possibility to view issues directly in Tekla® Structures (or any other linked BIM authoring tool) greatly improves a smooth BIM workflow for the multidisciplinary cooperation between companies working on construction projects. Add comments, set properties, milestones and assign team members to found issues. And just double-click to zoom to the issue. Visualize all results in a presentation for clear communication.

BIMcollab® is a cloud-based issue management system for BIM, based on BuildingSMART’s BCF file format. BCF is designed to support communication about BIM models between team members, without the need of sending the complete model. A snapshot of the issue explains the problem clearly, also to non-BIM users like contractors, who can use the browser-based version.

Director of product management at KUBUS, Ronald de Graan: “Adding the BCF Manager for Tekla Structures and including engineers, manufacturers and contractors in the process of issue-management is the next big step, but one of many to extend BIMcollab’s ecosystem."

Rob Roef, director Sales & Marketing at Construsoft, one of Tekla's most important business partners, stated: "Tekla-users are benefitting from BCF in the workflow, especially communicating with other team members. Our cooperation with KUBUS in the OPEN BIM community will enhance the adoption of this standard."

The release of this add-on expands the number of BIM applications linked to BIMcollab®, bridging the communication gap between more and more BIM applications.
