Closer to complete control: BIMcollab’s first improvements of 2026
At BIMcollab, every update is part of a bigger picture. New features and improvements should bring steady progress toward one clear goal: complete control over the BIM process.
At the end of last year, we introduced the first bundled releases focused on expanding functionalities across our Model Quality Assurance (MQA) and Common Data Environment (CDE) capabilities, building an even stronger foundation for more consistent, connected BIM collaboration.
This quarter, we continue our platform improvement journey with three new releases, each designed to remove friction where teams lose visibility, certainty, or scalability in their daily workflows. Together, they represent another step forward as meaningful enhancements shaped by how BIMcollab is used in practice.
So, what’s new, and why does it matter to you?
Meaningful improvement based on your feedback
Each Q1 release enhances how BIMcollab supports real-world BIM collaboration.
Across projects, locations, and teams, customers and users have told us where complexity creeps in:
- When multiple projects overlap at a single site.
- When it’s unclear which model version is safe to rely on.
- When project administration becomes harder to manage at scale.
The updates below directly address those challenges, helping you maintain clarity, confidence, and control as your BIM environment matures.
Control over complexity across locations and projects
Release: See federated models at location level from the CDE
Managing multiple projects at a single location often means juggling separate models, duplicated files, or manually maintained master views. This new feature in our CDE changes that.
Now, you can generate a complete federated 3D view of multiple projects at a location level, directly from the CDE. Relevant models are brought together into one unified view, eliminating the need to copy files or maintain separate coordination models.
What this gives you:
- A complete, accurate overview of all BIM models across projects, phases, and locations, or even across a group of locations.
- No duplication of models or additional maintenance overhead.
- Full respect of access rights, so users only see what’s relevant to their role.
- Personalized model tags can be used on location level.
For stakeholders who need fast insight into what’s happening across a site, this means fewer blind spots and faster, better-informed decisions. It’s a significant step toward controlling BIM complexity at scale while simultaneously keeping governance intact.
Control over model state and decision confidence in the Webviewer
Release: ISO 19650 status filtering
When multiple versions of a model exist, uncertainty quickly follows: Is this the latest WIP upload? Which version is approved? And which stakeholder is authorized to view this?
With the new ISO 19650 status filter in the WebViewer, that ambiguity is resolved. You can now switch between:
- Shared view: This shows the latest version of all loaded models. This can be either a shared or published version.
- Published view: This will show the latest approved version of all loaded models. Models that don’t have a published version will not be visible.
This gives teams clear control over which model state they are viewing at any moment in the WebViewer. With a single click, you can focus only on shared or published models, or instantly access the most recent updates, without need to sift through drafts or outdated versions.
As a result, it’s always clear whether you’re looking at something official or still in progress. Decision-makers see only approved information, stakeholders access only what they’re authorized to view, and teams stay aligned around the same, trusted model state.
The outcome is less confusion, reduced risk, and more confident collaboration across disciplines, supporting faster workflows and better-informed decisions.

Control at scale across your BIMcollab environment
Release: Improved project administration
As teams and projects evolve, administration can easily become a bottleneck. When administrators are responsible for managing multiple projects, configuring their settings, and maintaining consistency and control, efficiency becomes essential.
This release focuses on making project setup and management clearer, faster, and more accessible for space administrators. Access to projects and their settings is now more direct and easier to navigate:
- All projects are immediately visible on the start page when an administrator logs in
- All project-related settings are now grouped together within each project
- Document management settings are now part of the general project settings for administrators
Why this matters:
- Less time spent searching through different areas of the platform
- A more intuitive experience, with configuration living where users expect it
- Faster onboarding and setup of new projects
- Better overview and control across multiple projects
We know administrators wear many hats and juggle competing priorities. That’s why these improvements are designed to reduce friction and cognitive load, helping administrators stay in control without adding unnecessary complexity.

One step closer to complete control
Individually, these updates solve specific challenges. Together, they reinforce BIMcollab’s broader promise: turning BIM complexity into clarity and control.
This set of Q1 releases reflects how our platform continues to evolve, guided by customer feedback and focused on progress that matters in daily work.
And ultimately, our goal is to ensure that each improvement brings BIMcollab closer to a fully connected environment where quality, context, visibility, and scale are all under control.
