Validation and clash detection is becoming more and more integrated in BIM
construction project worldwide. Several applications are available that can detect and document these conflicts. Navisworks is one of those validation tools and is used to manage and share model clashes. It provides two separate methods to perform these tasks. In this blog we will explain them and help you decide which one is best for you.
Working with different disciplines on different BIM models can be challenging. You have to find an efficient way to share IFC files among team members and make sure everybody can use the most recent versions. One of our clients came up with an interesting solution we would like to share, using BIMcollab ZOOM as an effective tool to always have up-to-date IFC files in the federated model.
An effective BIM process results in a higher quality BIM model. It also saves time, cost and frustration during the design and construction phase. An important part of the BIM process is the solving of model checking results (problems and clashes) of software like Navisworks
or Solibri. Subsequently, there is a small variety of software on the market that helps to organize, monitor and solve these found clashes and problems.
If you are interested in architecture and construction, then make sure your clear your calendar. You can visit one of buildingSmart's Theme Days, which should be on the to-do list of any architect, contractor, specialist planner or general planner. If you have BIM-specific questions, want to do business, or want to know what the future of the industry will look like, you do not want to miss this.
Working on a open BIM project requires lots of communication. As a result we might be spending too much time either searching for information or correcting mistakes due to incorrect, out-of-date files. Since we are not working alone on BIM projects we should also be aware that the stronger and faster single members can work, the more beneficial it is for the total. Thus, an acceleration should take part for all members.
