Bringing the model to the construction site
GAMMA AR does not scan the building. It works the other way around: it brings the model to the site.
Using an Apple or Android device, construction teams can overlay BIM models onto the physical environment. This makes it easier to understand what should be built, verify work in place, and spot differences while standing in the relevant location.
Teams align models onto the actual location on the construction site without any setup using corners of walls, columns, or gridlines. If needed, they can save this alignment position to QR codes placed around the site. If the construction is outdoors (e.g. infrastructure projects, underground utilities, or civil works) GAMMA AR also supports GNSS for model placement.
Reporting issues where they are found
When the site team identifies a discrepancy, they can create an issue directly in GAMMA AR. The issue is captured with its model and location context, giving the office team a clearer picture of what was found and where.
This supports practical QA/QC activities such as checking openings, verifying installations, and confirming that agreed work has been completed correctly. It also reduces reliance on disconnected photographs, spreadsheets, emails, and messages to communicate site findings.
Connecting field issues to the wider BIM workflow
Issues created in GAMMA AR synchronize with the relevant BIMcollab project through a bidirectional BCF connection.
In BIMcollab, the project team can review the issue, assign responsibility, discuss the required action, and track its status. The responsible person can also access it through connected authoring and checking tools, resolve it in their usual working environment, and synchronize the update through BIMcollab.
The updated status then flows back to GAMMA AR, where the site team can follow up and verify the result.
This creates a connected process:
- A discrepancy is identified and recorded in GAMMA AR.
- The issue is synchronized with BIMcollab.
- The appropriate team resolves it through the coordination workflow.
- The update returns to GAMMA AR for verification on site.
Field and office teams work in the applications suited to their roles while sharing the same issue context.
Extending BIM coordination into construction
