Cloud 5

Press release: New BIMcollab 5 makes issue tracking clever

We are excited to announce today the release of BIMcollab 5. With this major release for the BIMcollab platform we are aiming to extend the functionality as well as improving the efficient workflow between all BIMcollab components. Centered around issue management we bring you more documentation options, possibility to integrate point clouds into BIM models, and give you better tools to validate BIM information.

“Over the past year we noticed not only a vast growth of projects making use of BIMcollab but also a big increase in project size. Project members reach out to each other through BIMcollab, this proofs that the unique collaboration mechanism of BIMcollab really works” said Erik Pijnenburg, CEO of KUBUS. “With this latest release, we’re stimulating this effect even more to help our clients to explore the full potential of collaboration, to create better models for better buildings”.

BIMcollab is an ecosystem that provides BIM issue management, IFC visualization and model validation to facilitate the entire process of creating, sharing and managing issues in multidisciplinary design- and construction projects. It aims to minimize the time spent and guarantees that none of the issues are overlooked. BIMcollab connects to all major BIM tools via free BCF Managers. The way it inspires collaboration between project members, like designers, modelers, constructors and BIM managers is unique. The new enhancements encourage collaboration even further, enabling BIM managers to get BIM issues resolved better and faster.

The major enhancements of BIMcollab 5 include:

  • Project management – Enhanced project management to simplify the creation and managing of projects and users. More flexible project-settings to support project specific way of working and communication.
  • Mark issues as favorites – Create quick access to most used issues or quickly create an overview of issues to discuss at review meetings or presentations.
  • GDPR Support – Projects and users can be hidden or deleted in line with the new European privacy law.

Along with the launch of BIMcollab 5, KUBUS will release updates of Zoom and all BCF Managers. The new version will support the new functionality of BIMcollab 5 like favorites and providing better filtering options to look up issues faster. Also the publishing of issues has been made up to 40% faster.

The new BIMcollab release will be automatically available for all existing users on June 9, 2018. BIMcollab is free on one active project, unlimited amount of issues for up to 5 users. Pricing details for larger projects are available here.
