Improved Beecot Augmented Reality App now available

Beecot has greatly improved its Augmented Reality App technically, informatively and in terms of appearance, and BIMcollab customers can also benefit from these improvements. With the application customers can easily make all data from their building file available in the cloud at (construction) sites. With the update of the user interface, the Augmented Reality App is also much more user-friendly.

BIMcollab has been working closely with Dutch software developer Beecot for some time. With the Beecot Augmented Reality App, users always have up-to-date and relevant information at hand on the construction site and when managing projects. In recent months, Beecot has been working on a radical expansion of the possibilities of the Augmented Reality App on the BIMcollab Twin platform.

View documents in 3D on location

In the Augmented Reality App , in addition to the current version of a drawing or document, it is also possible to view 3D models on location via a smartphone or tablet. Employees on location can also easily communicate with colleagues in the office.

Snagging, issue management and model validation

In addition to unlocking information, the app now also offers the option of creating 2D annotations (snagging issues). With this, data is added directly to the DMS and linked to an object.

Streaming models in AR

A third important innovation is that it is now also possible to stream models live in an existing situation using Augmented Reality (AR). The model can also be validated in real time.

Augmented Reality App app in practice

With the Augmented Reality App in combination with BIMcollab Twin, users can therefore easily switch between 2D and 3D models and AR applications, depending on their requirements. The Augmented Reality App is now being used by contractor Heijmans and will also be widely used in projects by contractor Spie. Various large hospitals, including the Erasmus Medical Center and Ommelander Hospital in Groningen, also work with the Augmented Reality App and thus add efficiency to their work processes.
