BIMcollab Twin | BIMcollab creates form generator in reply to Wkb compliance

With Forms, BIMcollab has added a module with which forms can be generated and linked to objects in 3D models. The tool has various application options, among others for construction and contracting companies in compliance with the Dutch Construction Quality Assurance Act (Wkb), which will be phased in from 1 July 2023. Forms is available as a beta version since March 1.

Forms is an answer to questions and feedback from customers who require a flexible form generator that supports work processes and with which evidence can be collected for the Wkb. The BIMcollab Twin development team worked on the feature together with a number of customers.

Construction Quality Assurance Act (Wkb)

With the introduction of the Construction Quality Assurance Act, a lot will change in The Netherlands, especially for construction and contractor companies. The Wkb gives the government supervision over the quality of the built environment and dictates that every construction company must keep detailed files to prove the delivered quality of every construction project. An external quality assurance officer can check the quality of the work conform the Building Decree. The law has already been postponed several times and will be introduced in phases from 1 July 2023. The legislation is expected to come into full force on January 1, 2024.

Standardization in a flexible solution

The development of Forms was done with input from users at contractors and is based on a generic solution that can be modified per process and per customer. Forms supplies a set of standard forms and can be used for the Wkb, namely inspections, inspection lists and photos. Forms can also be used for, e.g. delivery and inventory forms, Requests for Change and incident management.

All forms and work processes can be scheduled in time and linked to 3D objects in the model. The burden of proofing documents for the Wkb is thus secured and accessible to everyone.

Forms is included in BIMcollab Twin as a beta version since March 1. This important module is still being finetuned based on user experiences.
